The Pinnacle Koh Tao Resort is one of the best options if you are looking for a secluded, but full service hotel all within a mid level price range. Read on for our review of our stay at the Pinnacle Koh Tao Resort!
The hotel is located on the southern part of Koh Tao near the Chalok area. To reach the hotel, you will need to find a 4×4 taxi as the road to that part of the island is minimally developed and extremely steep. Notably, one of the only drawbacks to the resorts’ location is that it is a short journey to the Mae Haad area of the island. While it is far, the hotel provides complimentary transport into the city on designated time schedules. The best part of the hotel’s location is the fact that you can go snorkelling right off the beach. We saw everything from Parrot fish to giant clams all just right off shore. Tip: Rent a mask from the hotel dive shop or one of the small shops just back from the beach. We used our swim goggles and that worked great too!
On site, you will find a spa including Thai massage, dive shop, restaurant and small market. There is a private beach and a divine pool area overlooking the ocean complete with bar, lounge chairs, and a restaurant just steps away. Located on varying levels on the hillside are the villas with stunning views of the sea. As such, the hotel provides complimentary transportation in golf carts and pick-up trucks to get around the resort.
Room options include hotel rooms with sea views, sea view villas, and seafront villas. We stayed in the sea view villa where we enjoyed gorgeous views of the ocean from the comfy lounge chairs on the balcony. Inside, you will find a large queen sized bed, separate sitting area, closet space, and a nice sized bathroom. Each room includes a mini bar, strong free wifi, satellite TV, and AC.
Included in our room rate was a free continental breakfast. We had unlimited coffee, juice, and tea and a great buffet spread. Some of the buffet items included yogurt, fruit, cereals and bread, meats, and cooked to order eggs and omelets.
Staff and Service:
The quality of the staff and service is the thing that makes the Koh Tao Pinnacle Resort a cut above the rest. From the moment we arrived, every staff member we encountered greeted us as if we were family. The hotel helped us book our transport to the next island and was willing to help with travel and activity plans. After we arrived, the manager of the dive shop called our room to say he would be in the shop to any questions. The breakfast staff was wonderful, greeting you every morning with a smile and helpful attitude. In fact, the Pinnacle Resort offers amazing stays while making you feel like part of the family.
Room rates vary depending on season from 1500 THB to 5000 THB per night including breakfast. For reference, we paid $43.88 per night for two people, which was about 1535 THB. The Koh Tao Pinnacles Resort is an excellent choice for those looking for affordable resort type stays while visiting Koh Tao.
